Spicy P has had a tremoundas start to this season. As we all know Pascal had a very bold take on media day when he said “ I want to be a top- 5 player ”, but so far this season he at least looks like a player who is working hard to achieve that personal goal.

Early on this season Pascal has looked exceptional, including a 37 point triple double in his second game of the season. While the Raptors have a 2-2 overall record his outstanding play has kept them in ball games and has allowed them to have a pretty decent start to the season.

So far through the small sample size Pascal is averaging 27.7 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game and 7.0 assists per game. He has been doing all of this while shooting 53.3% from the field.

Now I know this is a very small sample size but Pascal has looked like a player with tons of confidence that is getting the job done on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. So far through the 4 games Pascal has looked like the best player on the floor and that includes games in which Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Jimmy Butler were all playing.

Spicy P made the bold comment on media day and many people around the NBA thought that Siakam was absolutely crazy to think that he could be a top-5 player in the league but the way he has started his season he is definitely trying to get into the conversation.

Now I don’t think that Pascal will ever be a top-5 player, but I do think he can be a top-15 player and we saw that last year when he made the All-NBA third team. I think Pascal has the ability to make All NBA every season from here on out as long as he stays healthy and has the confidence to operate at the level he is capable of.

In my eyes I think that Pascal can continue his exceptional play and if he can do that it would be massive for the Raptors. They would be able to rely on him to be the guy as they have a real solid supporting cast. There is no doubt in my mind that if Pascal can keep this up he and the Raptors can have an extraordinary season in which they achieve success.
