As the 2021/22 Premier League season wraps up, we’ll be taking you through our team of the season from this incredibly exciting and close campaign. I have gone for a 4-3-3 formation and will include a full bench.
Goalkeeper
Alisson Becker from Liverpool had another outstanding season, keeping 20 clean sheets and only conceding 24 goals in 35 games while finishing a heart-breaking second with Liverpool. He continues to be a reliable goalkeeper and a leader in the back.

Left Back
Another Liverpool player, Andy Robertson continued to shine all season long while being a rock in the back for the Reds, and helped provide threats up front. He does it so effortlessly, with 10 assists and 3 goals to his name.
Centerback
Already a third Liverpool player, there is no doubt Virgil Van Dijk gets into the squad. One of the best defenders the Premier League has ever seen, and is one of the main reasons why Liverpool were so much better than they were last season while he was out with injury. Yet to lose a league game at home, VVD kept 21 clean sheets and was the main part of Liverpool's stone wall defense.
Centerback
The first Manchester City player on this list is Aymeric Laporte. The Frenchman had a quiet but very impressive season as he was the main man in their backline while City took home their sixth Premier League title. He scored four goals and kept 15 clean sheets.
Right Back
Trent Alexander-Arnold had one of the best fullback seasons the league has ever seen. He had 17 clean sheets, with 12 assists and always provided offensive threats.

His blistering pace helped Liverpool on both ends of the pitch. He was unlucky to win the Premier League’s “young player of the season” award but there is no denying he has been absolutely brilliant.
Midfield
The first piece of the midfield is Rodri, from Manchester City. He was a rock in City’s title winning midfield and was also an offensive threat, scoring multiple incredible goals that sent the Etihad mental. He scored seven goals but his stats in the midfield are impressive. 292 ball recoveries and 189 duels won.
West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen has to be in the team. He has had one of the best seasons and can not be ignored. 21 goals and 19 assists for West Ham is amazing and he was definitely the best player outside of the “Big Six” and is leading West Ham into next season’s Europa Conference League. A career defining season that got him his first England call up.

The final player in the midfield has to be Kevin De Bruyne. The official Premier League player of the season and a definite front runner for the Ballon D’Or. De Bruyne was the leader in City’s dominant title win, 15 goals and eight assists while being one of the most creative persons in the league. He even had a four goal game against Wolves in one of the title deciding games. It was a slow start due to injury but there is no doubt he was by far the league's best player.
Attack
Cristiano Ronaldo has to go into the team as he was Manchester United’s best player and is the sole reason they even finished in a European place. United didn’t win any game that they played without him. With 18 goals this season including hat tricks against Norwich and Tottenham, Ronaldo was a leader and an incredible player in his first season back in the Premier League.
Heung-Min Son had a great season for Spurs as they qualified for the Champions League once again. Son shared the PL’s Golden Boot with Salah as they both scored 23 goals, but Son was the star in a Spurs team that started slow and really struggled at the beginning of the season.

Mohammed Salah was very close to being the player of the season, he bagged 23 goals with 13 assists and almost led Liverpool to a second title. Salah scored some of the most beautiful goals and showed everyone why he is the best goal scorer in the league. Had he not been away at AFCON Salah may have just been able to hit 30 goals.
